Minneapolis Public Schools (Out4Good) and St. Paul Public Schools (Out for Equity) are teaming up to hold a series of events promoting and teaching about the need for gender inclusive schools. Join us for exciting conversations on LGBTQ+ Inclusive Curriculum, Constructions of Masculinity, Gender Inclusive Facilities, and Gender Inclusive Athletics.

The Mask You Live In: Film Screening

Thursday, May 5th - 6-9pm
A powerful documentary examining the way boys and young men navigate America's narrow definition of masculinity and how that impacts our notions of gender equity and sexuality. Join us for a screening of the film followup by an intercultural dialog on developing possitive expressions of masculinity within our schools.

I Am Jazz: Book Reading and Author Q&A

Saturday, May 7th - 11am-2pm
"I Am Jazz", a children's book following the story of a transgender child based on the real-life experience of Jazz Jennings, has become an essential tool for parents and teachers across the country. Join author, Jessica Herthel, in a conversation about LGBTQ+ Inclusive Curriculum for grades K-5.

Focus on Facilities: Making Schools Accessible

Monday, May 9th - 5-7pm
Schools nationwide are working towards making their schools safer places for students of all genders. Learn about successful practices and policies in creating a gender inclusive environment, as well as, addressing how to overcome challenges and obstacles.

Sports and Making the Game: Trans Inclusion in Athletics

Tuesday, May 10th - 6:30-8:30pm
Participation in high school athletics shows that a student is well-rounded and can improve a student’s chances of acceptance into college. For some students, playing on high school teams leads to future careers in athletics as competitors, coaches, administrators, and athletic trainers. All students, including those who are transgender, deserve access to these benefits. Hear from local coaches and athletes on successful strategies for recruiting and training successful transgender athletes.
