The Parent Academy and the Connecting Parents to Educational Opportunities (CPEO) Program are training and learning resources that are designed to help strengthen parental involvement in a child's education through informational classes and workshops. These programs will engage, empower, and strengthen parents as equal partners in the education and success of their children, both in and out of the classroom.
For the 2015-2016 school year the MPS Parent Academy will work to ensure that all parents have opportunities to attend workshops, programs and classes that encourage life-long learning and that inspire parents to support and advocate for their children.
News about the Parent Academy and CPEO:
"A new Minneapolis program teaches parents to help their kids shine at school -- and to guide them toward college."
"Minneapolis children will not be the only ones going back to school this fall. Many parents will be attending a seven-week Continuing Parent Education Opportunity (CPEO) course at one of the Minneapolis public schools..."
